EU/AU (polyurethane rubber, polyester urethane)

This is a synthetic rubber, which contains urethane groups in the main chain, and it is the most commonly used polymer in the manufacture of foam. It is air-permeable and therefore returns to its original condition after the mechanical stress ceases. Its main characteristics are good heat insulating capacities and sound absorption.

Usage:

upholstery, insulating, rollers for dyeing, parts with a high degree of wear, seals with high hydraulic pressure.

Advantages:

  • excellent resistance to wear and mechanical stress,
  • good resistance to changing weather conditions,
  • excellent tensile strength.

Disadvantages:

  • poor resistance to water, alkalis, high temperatures.

Temperature resistance: from - 30 °C to 120 °C.

Hardness: 55 to 90 Shore A.
